Taking “From Farm to Fork” to heart

Posted by on May 17, 2010 with 1 Comments

Veteran shoppers at the downtown Davenport’s Freight House Farmer’s Market don’t miss a chance to see what the Nostalgia Farms tent has on offer.

Joe Dennis (right) and Ed Kraklio (left) of Walcott, Iowa have become a popular and recognizable mainstay at the market for years. Their passion for chemically free locally grown fruits, vegetables, and poultry have created a following of loyal customers who prefer homegrown produce that’s delivered with the signature “Mr. Ed and Farmer Joe” flair only they can provide.

Both Joe and Ed have agreed to blog about news from their farm in Maysville, keep us posted on what’s in season, and let us in on their recipes for how to cook all that great homegrown food.

Visit the Nostalgia Farms tent at the Freight House Farmer’s Market in downtown Davenport near LeClaire Park, every Tuesday 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday’s 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. You can find more information about Nostalgia Farms on their web site.
