Mississippi Valley Pain Clinic offers a variety of therapies for people suffering from back and neck pain. Many of these treatment options are routine – but always delivered in a safe environment. Chronic medication management clinicians and behavioral medicine clinicians are on site for patient convenience.
The clinic’s experienced administrative and nursing team coordinates care. Surgical suites are available at Mississippi Valley Surgery Center for implementation of devices to assure a comprehensive surgical environment with full radiologic imaging for use.
Treatment options include:
- Cervical Epidural Injection: A treatment in which a medication is injected near a specific nerve root in your cervical (neck) area to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
- Epidural steroid injections: (cervical, lumbar, caudal): A treatment in which a medication is injected into the epidural space around your spinal canal to reduce inflammation and relieve pain around the spinal cord.
- Facet joint injections: Medication is injected into the inflamed facet joint (the point where to vertebrae fit together). The treatment helps to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
- Intradiscal electrothermal therapy: A special catheter is used to strengthen the intervertebral disc so that movements cease to cause pain in the lower back.

- Trigger point injections: A treatment in which a medication is injected into a muscle in your body which is causing pain and or muscle spasms. These areas in your muscle are called “trigger points.”
- Spinal cord stimulators: This device is similar to a pacemaker for the spinal cord. It controls pain by substituting a slight tingle for the pain.
